Enterprise Stacking
On the morning of June 8th, Rebecca Heys, Director and Farm Business Manager, and Gala Bailey-Barker, Director and Farmer, welcomed a range of small scale farmers and small holders from the local area to the farm to host a tour and talk on enterprise stacking. This is a new term to describe a model of doing many things at once, a style we often call 'mixed farming'. Rebecca and Gala shared with attendees how we manage and run multiple enterprises on the farm, how each operates in relation to the others, and the benefits and challenges of this model. The event was arranged by High Weald AONB and funded by the Farming in Protected Landscapes Programme, which supports projects that recover nature, tackle climate change, provide opportunities for people to discover the landscape, and supports sustainable farm businesses.
