Your Christmas shopping 2021
Jenny Thornhill
Last Christmas we were in lockdown and our shopping habits had to change drastically. Here at Plaw Hatch we hugely increased what was available on our online shop, and pretty much everything you might need for your Christmas dinner was available to order and be ready for what was basically a drive through pick up.
It was a huge amount of work for our small team, and this year we are not bound by the same restrictions. As we get back to some sort of normality, our online order shop is back to just Christmas meats as in previous years, as well as our cheese selection boxes.
However, we feel we still need to be careful and not let the shop get too busy with customers. So, to help you have a comfortable Christmas shop with us, here are a few suggestions:
Make your purchases of any non-perishables like wine, chocolate, and dried goods in early December.
Most cheeses and other chilled items can be purchased a week before along with some vegetables like red cabbage, potatoes etc.
We will prepare pre-bagged Christmas vegetables like potatoes, carrots, parsnips, and brussels sprouts which will also be available outside the shop on the 23rd and 24th, so if you are having to queue to come in then you can make these purchases while you wait.
Your pre-ordered Christmas meat will be available to collect outside the shop at the butchery stand along with Stitchelton cheese. (Payment for Stitchelton is direct to Jayne, one of our butchers).
As usual (pre-Covid), we are already taking orders for cream, and in mid-December we will open the books for bread orders for the Christmas period.
We hope, with your help, that we can make your Christmas shopping an enjoyable and comfortable experience.
If you haven’t done so yet, order for Christmas.
